Presto!!!

At last “Party Time Vol 2 – The Dance Competition” is finished!!! I may change bits depending on peoples feedback, but it’s pretty much done!!! For those of you who don’t have a clue about what I’m on about, every now and then I like to DJ & I love to create random mix CD’s for people! Last year I decided to create a mini series with a theme about kids parties and filled with a few party anthems (cheesey 80′s stuff and other well known head-nodding tracks) alongside a bucket load of christian hip hop. The first one I did was “Party Time Vol 1 – Musical Statues” and included some gems like Rick Astley, Jackson 5, House of Pain, and the Clash. The CD also included…(wait for it) Musical Statues!!! So you can play along with it!!! (Has to be heard to be belived)

Anyway, back to the new one. I’ll just put up the tracklisting for the new one.
1. Braille feat Rob Swift – Hip Hop Music
2. Blake Knight – Not That Serious
3. Mr Scruff – Vibrate
4. Mase – What You Want

When you get a copy, leave me some comments and tell what you think about it!!!

Pigeon John – Identity Crisis

Apart from my flat mates car getting broken into last night rigt ourside my bedroom window & me not being able to do my work, there’s not much to write about really! So feast your ears on this musical delight from the world famous “P.I.G.E.O.N. John, Pigeon Jimmy John is the new James Bond” (quote from his own lyrics).

This guy is one of those rappers who likes to rap about the randomest things in the world & generally take the mickey out of the whole rap industry. He’s a christian but his lyrics aren’t all overtly godly. He was voted the top rapper in LA, alongside Chali 2Na(Jurassic 5) and Dilated Peoples this year and his songs have featured on many Playstation games & even a few movies!

This track is my absolute favourite, It’s got the funkiest tune in the background like something from a fairground and the lyric’s are all about him not being sure whether he’s himself or trying to be someone else. But the way he tell’s it is really funny!

Intro-inspection – Osymyso

Today’s musical treat is a milestone in the history of bootlegs (aka bastard pop – honestly thats what it’s called!). Osymyso is more famous than his name makes out though you won’t have heard of him, he’s the producer of the soundtrack to the classic film “Shaun of the dead” and now has his own show on BBC Radio 1! The track I’ve picked out is quite old, but everyone must at least listen to it once.

Intro-inspection is an 11 minute long mad mashup of intro’s from famous tracks!!! Pure genius!! You’re probably thinking – how can that be any good? Well it is! Listen to it & then smile & bob your head to the sheer utter genius of it all!!!

Braille feat. Rob Swift – Hip Hop

Since I listen to a fair bit of music online, I thought I’d treat you all (really i’m jus bored, but it’s a treat none the less) to bit of what goes down my ear-hole (apart from stones & cotton buds trying to stop the stones from piercing my ear drum).

Today is a fantastic track by a christian rapper called Braille & a huge secular DJ called Rob Swift (from the X-ecutioners World champion scratch team). It’s a very funky hip hop track (It’s the first track on the new mix CD i’m working on. If anyone wants a copy of the old Musical Statues one give me a bell!)

Sally Likes Smelly Feet

Well the weekend is over! Herr Scruff was fan-diddly-tastic!! And he’s putting on a free launch party for his new mix CD Keep It Solid Steel on september the 19th! I’ve got my tickets!!! Anyway, we had a good old boogie to some 80′s pop, reggae, random latin drum beats & then plenty of funky house!! They’ve decked out thebar in the club so it looks really funky, it’s shame they didn’t change the prices as well tho! £2.70 for a can of lager!!! More than double the price in shops! £1 for a coffee is ok cos all the money in the tea room goes to charity (good old Scruff!)

Anyway, Sunday was a good laugh! At kids club in church I got to sit & watch “Prince Caspian & the Voyage Of The Dawn Tredder”. It was ace cos I use to grow up watching it!! I’m not sure all the kids enjoyed it though, the special effects are a bit dire, but it was a TV show made in the 80′s!! Anyway, after church a load of us headed back to Bryonny’s where we played “Sally Likes…”. The strangest game ever!! It took my ages to work out what you had to do, but i was well chuffed when i got it!!! It’s too difficult to explain the game, but it was fun! Unfortunately I had to rush off & go watch Smallville (Yey!!!) I’ve already seen the first episode, but it was quality to watch it again! I can’t wait for next week!! Then I fell asleep & woke up to watch Jerry Maguire & then went back to bed!!!

I’ve not got any new work yet, so i’ll be dossing!!! Check out the photo gallery of camp I made last friday cos i was bored www.aloofphoto.com/badgercamp2004/gallery/index.html.

Scruffage Keep It Unreal

Jus a quick celebratory blog to give thanks for this saturday night. Herr Scruff is on at the music box with Keep It Unreal (as he is every first saturday of the month). It should be another classic night of tea drinking, fruit eating, boogying & acting rather silly and stupid whilst strange potato shape people go about their busy live son a projector & Mr Scruff spins some round plastic plates on turntables!!! Oh what joyous event it will be!! Whilst on the subject of Will, i will miss him this month (& pretty much every month cos he’s being a bum in Peterborough!), but to make up for it, the amazing Mul will be there!!! I’m sure i shall see Derek, John, Chris, Bryonny & a few other church peeps there!! Naomi even said she might go for the first time ever!!! (I hope she’s not disappointed, i have kinda built it up quite a bit!!) See you all there though, 10-4am Music Box!!

chicken tree’s

I’ve jus been at cell group & Mike & Lorna gave me a really cool CD boxset for kids club!!! “Ultimate Kids Praise – 60 All Time Classic Kids Praise Songs” on 3 discs!!! There are plenty of really cheesey ones, but some absolute gems!!! Check out “Chicken Tree”, here’s a sample of the lyrics :

“Once there was a little chicken
sitting in the chicken tree,
Chicka, chicka, chicka, chicka, chicka,
chicka chicken
sitting in the chicken tree
Chicka, chicka, chicka, chicka, chicka,
chicka chicken
sitting in the chicken tree
Chicka, chicka, chicka, chicka, chicka,
chicka chicken
Praising God in the chicken tree”

It then does the same but with Duck and ducka, goose and goosey, and finally pelican and peli!?! What a genius song!!
Here’s the lyrics for a Doug Horley one on the discs called “Lovely Jubbly”:

“He made the fish that fly,
eyes that cry
birds that poo
upon you shoe
He made whales that sing
Bees that sting
He even gave the cat its furry bottom”

Actually Doug Horley is a bit of legend with our Kids club, and as you can tell by these lyrics, he deserves it!!!

Whilst on subject of kids praise, one more song that must get a mention but isn’t on the disc’s is “Talk Talk”, but i don’t know who it’s by, anyway here’s a little snippet of the lyrics:

“You can talk to God
Before you eat
You can talk to God
Before you sleep
Where ever you are
What ever you do
You can even talk to him
on the… Bus!”

Why did Kids get the best songs to praise God with? All we get is Matt Redman & Tim Hughes with their “deep and meaningful” lyrics! Come on boys, shove some poo in your songs!! God loves a bit of toilet humour!!!
