Wedding, Laptops and Roller DISCO!

ot necessarily in that order. So yeah… I’m getting married! Only joking! I’ve just put some photo’s from my brothers wedding up in my gallery and some photo’s from the awesome roller disco in New York a few weeks ago. And I have a new awesome laptop! Awesome! And it was cheap! Kool & the Gang! Plus I had 2 really good interviews for some really cool jobs today. And I had a great time on Monday night for Lotte’s birthday (photo’s from Will yet to come). And… actually thats it now.

New York so far…

Well, so far so good! Apart from breaking a tooth, throwing up in my bag (a long story, but it did seem the best option at the time) and getting very lost (thankfully I have a Not For Tourists guide to New York now – thanks Julia!). I can’t really think of much to say cos people are standing here waiting to go to the bar, so I’ll let the photo’s speak for themselves. Take a look at them in the Gallery. Hello beautiful people! How are you all? I’m sat in my bro’s apartment, 4.22am and it’s his big fat Spanish wedding 2mz from 6pm-6am! So I should probably get some sleep! I’m flying out to New York next saturday!!! So soon!!! I can’t wait! Are you Matt Goldspink?

I’ve been reading a very funny book called “Are you Dave Gorman?” in which two flatmates, Dave Gorman and Danny Wallace, make a bet that Dave can’t find 54 people with the same name as him. It’s a true story and there was a TV show and a comedy circuit of it, and the book has photo’s of all the Dave Gorman’s met. Now I was wondering if there any other Matt or Matthew Goldspinks in the world. Odds are… no! Goldspink is a very rare name and I don’t think I’ve ever knowingly met anyone with the name that is not related to me. But, if anyone does know a Matt or Matthew Goldspink other than me then I’d like to hear from them! I don’t know why, it’d just be interesting to compare life stories and… well I don’t just have a chat!

In other news, I’ve been granted a US Visa (woohoo!) so I’ll be going to New York with work now. I had a slight break down in communications with the woman interviewing me for my visa. She asked me to place my “right ring finger” on the fingerprint scanner. Unfortunately I had no idea which one my “ring finger” was and so looked at her blankly. She then demonstrated by waving all four fingers at me! I looked even blanker. It was only then I realised she was touching one finger with her thumb. Using my amazing powers of deduction, I guessed she meant that finger. So I put it on, only to hear her say “your RIGHT ring finger, please”. Needless to say she probably thinks I’m far to thick to be harmful to any Americans!

How much to attend your brothers wedding?

My Big Bro and his FianceéWell it looks the Goldspink clan are getting into the marriage game! My older older sister (I have another older one, who’s younger than the oldest one, so I call her my younger older sister) is getting married in July to Paul (whose birthday it is 2moro infact! Pants! Best go get him a present). Then my brother is getting married to Laia in September! Mum keeps pestering for grandkids. She wants them before she pops her clogs I think, which is fair enough! Anyway, it turns out I’m gonna be in New York working when my bro gets married which means I have to fly back. If I was flying back to the UK that would be fine, flights are only about £200-300. Unfortunately, being the difficult person that he is, he lives in Mallorca and is getting married there! which means the cheapest flights are gonna cost £600 and it’ll take me 11 hrs to get there (there aren’t any direct)!!! Let’s just say I won’t be buying him wedding present!! Oh!!! I’ve had agenius idea, I could put a donate button on my blog and any people could donate to the cause of me not missing my brothers wedding! I think thats fairly worthy :D A bit cheeky, but definately worthy.

Once again, what with having three consecutive intensive courses and my finals in just under a week, I haven’t had time to do a proper mix. So, I’ve done a bit of digging instead (funny i had time for that!) and plucked out an extremely old and rare Breezeblock from Radio 1. For those of you that know and love the Prodigy, you may also have heard of the spectacular Dirtchamber Sessions mix CD. Well, this is the Breezeblock mix that Liam Howlett did that then inspired him to tidy it up and release it as a full blown CD. If you’ve heard the Dirtchamber sessions then you’ll recognise bits of this, but i should point out that it is not a simple clone.
